Comment about Reflective Learning Writing

Our lecturer has apply different teaching methods such as she want us to write the reflective learning easy asking us to recall back what we have learn from business. She believes the reflective learning would give better understanding about the business. And also, want us to understand the connection between the theories and real business world. She doesn’t want us just memorizing the theory for final exam.

For me, to be honest, this course has taught me a lot. I will apply the concept of reflective learning for my whole life. This is because I want to be a reflective person. From this semester, I will take my time to reflect what I have done successfully, what I have learned in class, and what events still not success yet…... I still cannot fully apply this concept in my life.

Overall, I would say that Madame Rafidah has changed me to be a reflective person. By this new learning concept, I can see my weakness and try to improve my weakness become my strength. I seem like flowery statement to you, but truly, through the reflective learning, I have learned a lot……...thank you.

Comment About Peer Evaluation

Besides asking us to progress the business activity and prepare weekly presentation, Madame Rafidah also has promoted our awareness through self-evaluation and peer-evaluations. This motivated me to solve my quietness in the group. However, maybe because of the peer evaluation some group member attempted to be active in involving and willingness to complete the business of our business. From here, I learned that the importance of peer evaluation. If not, has the peer evaluation, I don’t believe that they will cooperate will the group learning. I start thinking that, if I have the opportunity to become the lecturer, I will manage the peer evaluation also to my student. This is very good tactic to make sure that all of them will involved the project that given.

Besides that, the peer evaluation will make my see it as the opportunity to differentiate and measure my performance and involvement with the other students in achieving the business goals. By this, I was improving my ability and knowledge from time to time. This is because, when I evaluated other, I have learned what I should do, what will make group members feel uncomfortable, and so on. Thus, I really feel that my entrepreneurial spirit was improving when I looked back the peer evaluation that I evaluated.

Business Progress at Week 14

Finally, come to the final presentation!!!! Thus, we had closed the business and starting preparing the final presentation.

When come to final presentation, I just starting appreciated the friendship among of us. Maybe sometime I really feel angry with them, but, I will never regret working with them…. We experienced the pain, failure together…. those just make our friendship become strength. But, I feeling down… got the blue… Everyone gets sad. Yes, this is final week we stay together. After, the final presentation we just say Bye….I hate it when a separation with friend, but I still need to face it because this separation cannot be avoided….



I am very thankful because through this business we aware that friendship is the receipt of happiness. A friend in need is a friend indeed. Enjoy it! Really thank to IT Entrepreneurship course.

Business Progress at Week 13

Our Financial Manager has accounted that we had earned RM 580 for photography service. But, after we were donated the money just left around RM 270. This is not bad earning.

What I have learned from this week??????
I have learned to be more generosity to orphan, senior citizens and those are disability. Many people don’t understand the importance of generosity, including me!!! In the past, I hold on tightly to what I own and money, unaware that selfishness inside my heart. But, after I joined the charity, I starting aware that, to be generous in helping unfortunate is very important. Thus, Be a Generous Person…. Give Generously!!!!



Well, besides that, I also aware that business is a practice in patience. Yes, patience is the key to create the success of business. When I feel like there is no hope to improve the profit anymore, but my group members still maintaining the patience. Now, I have learn that, when you feel like no hope, just sit down, take a deep breath, and then organize your thought…. This is very simple...Just learn to master the art of patience; you will see your hope again. Remember that, business is a process- it takes time, so practicing patience is tool in business.


There are just some of my reflective learning that I need apply to my daily live and plunging into the real world. Carefully review each point that I stated even my essay not good at all. Enjoy it.

Business Progress at Week 12

This week we were facing the failure of the previous business planning or strategy.
Why, I said so?

This is because the Pengarah of Co-curriculum cannot write the memo before 27th March 2010, which is last day for co- curriculum’s class for this semester. This causes us all the business planning and activities cannot work anymore. Thus, we were changing the strategy by promoting the business from class to class. I know the attempt to lead to the transformation of business is extremely high risk, but we were already facing the failure of previous strategy.

• Reflective Learning – Never Give Up when Failure

When we experienced the failure of business, we had a great deal of support from our classmates, and friends, however we still felt sad. But, we view the failure applied of memo from Pengarah as lifeblood of success. Let me emphasize one important thing. Business owners should not immediate stick the heads in the sand after failure. We should remember our hopes, wishes, and dreams that incited the decision to success own business. “Giving up often associate with the failure”- this is what I learned in this week. Luckily, our group members were still choosing to struggle until the end for us and for our business. Congratulation, guys!!!!

• Reflective Learning- Changing the mental model of “Failure” and “Success”

Usually the mindset of the people is very simple; they set their mind as below:

SUCCESS > YOU> FAILURE

Most of the people, set them in the middle, either success or failure. They do everything just want move toward the success and avoid the failure. But, do you think this mental model will make you more toward success.

After I joined this business, I had changing my mind and I viewed failure as a “stepping- stone” on the way to success.

ME> FAILURE> SUCCESS

Success just is the destination, but we still need go through the failure first. This is because I viewed the failure as a receipt of gratification. Thus, I have the also celebrate the failure, and also with the achievement.



Even our business has faced a lot of difficulty and problem, but I have learned a lot form the failure. There has a lot of meaning behind the FAILURE, so I very appreciate the failure that I have faced in this week.

Business Progress at Week 11

• Business Activity Week 11

We have solved the problem from the CEDI and Director Co-curriculum in the week 11. We are quite felicitating our achievements because we already solved the problem for applying licences and get permission from Director Pusat Ko-kurikulum. Even last week, we thought the procedure meeting with CEDI and Director was “DIFFICULT” and this is a “NIGHTMARE” of whole group members. But we still challenge our ability and finally worked. Thank God because take care of us….

• Reflective Learning- Communication skill

Communication basically is the major tool in dealing with the Pengarah from Co-curriculum and CEDI. In here, I have learned that this is very important to have good communication skill to build the new relationships and strengthen them. In order to achieve a goal, the effective communication is essential for transmitting the information to Director from Co-curriculum and CEDI. Thus, maybe because of it, they are fully support our idea… ha…ha….Congratulation!!!! From now, I wanted to do was challenging my communication skill and improve it as much as possible. This sound like very difficult, but I know I can do it for my future. When I talk about it to my roommate, they just laugh my…..didn’t support me. They so disappointed me. Let me prove it to them….. I can do it..

• Reflective Learning- Realize the Importance of organization Chart

I am thinking that actually I was fair when communicating with every group members, but why the outcome was not as effective as I expected. I only obtained few close group members in this group who support me and like to collaborate with me. Other group member didn’t even care about of our progress report, and even take a look the report. This is very disappointed me because I putted my full heart in writing report, but they didn’t even spend one minute to take a look.

I already take all responsibility to write the report as an Administrative Department’s leader. And, also know that they have other business activity need to progress. This don’t mean that, all of them didn’t need involved in reporting the business. For those were really busy in our business, I can excused them. Do you know almost 95% of report was written by me from staring business until now? And, Gloria will help me prepare the power point presentation. From here, I got the answer; that organization chart is very important for a business operation. If not fairly divided the job in organization chart, you will faced the difficulty like me. This also very important to avoid SLEEPING PARTNERS!!!!! This is the great awareness that I got from week 11.


Conclusion
Real entrepreneur’s world has given me different point of view in operating the business. I have learned a lot from the real entrepreneur’s world. Really thank you for IT Entrepreneurship…..Thanks!!!!

Business Progress at Week 10

• Part 1 : Reflective Learning from Promotion Business

I don’t know how many time repeat the same sentences when pass the flyer to the student of UUM in week 10. In this week, wherever I go and whatever I do just promoting our business. We are a small business student will easily ignore us if the promotions are weak. So, actively work at business promotion is very important to improve the sales figures or get more clients for our business. This is what I learn when our business mainly promotes the business in week 10.

In here, I also learned that as a business partner, I compulsory to forms a positive first impression to my customer. By this, they will think favorably to me. Every face to face contact and eye contact are playing important role in promoting business. My friend has taught me try to look at the customer constantly while talking and smiling. This is very impressive to customer.




And, also being pleasant will help me to build a good first impression to customer.

“Pretty girl, take a flyer please…. You very pretty today…….you that …you that…” with a sick smile.

Oh my god. This only will make the customer feel sick. I mean the pleasant is not such kind of PLEASANT. If promoter promoting the service likes that, I will think he is mentally sick. I mean pleasant in promotion here is try to communicate with the customer in polite way and don’t make difficulty to customer. If customer not time to listen our promotion just give the flyer to customer and not need promoting again. By being pleasant to customer, we are able to present good business image.

• Part 2: My Job

I think I have improved my writing report skill based on my group members’ feedback. For example, Gloria has quite satisfied of my report. But, I don’t know about the lecturer feedback because she didn’t comment anything. Luckily, my lecturer didn’t comment that, because I scared lecturer will laugh my report. If lecturer does so, I believe I will feel sad because in put my whole heart in doing this, spending my sleeping time just want to finish my report.




But, I know my report has a “little” weakness. This is because I lack to write about personal feeling in progress report- week10, just a little part. I cannot felt free to express our feeling in the report. This is because I scare if putting down our feeling and describe detail, Madame Rafidah maybe laughing us. Why? The reason is I feel difficulty to express the feeling in poor English. This is very difficult to write the personal feeling if grammar and writing skill is weak. So, I just ignored it. However, I will try it in next progress report.

Business Progress at Week 9

After pass up the business planning, we start to progress our business for this semester. We are asking by lecturer choosing one of the business plan that we presented at week 8, either selling clothes or having photography service. After discussing in the class, we decided to have the photography service for our group project.

Photography Service

In here, I would like to present my job as a secretary of the group. The activities we did such as the choosing business plan, meeting, group presentation and peer evaluation as a process in modelling interpersonal and communication skills as well as personality development. Through this activity of this week we were able to learn a lot of thing that cannot learn from syllabus.

Reflective Learning
Madame Rafidah, our lecturer formed us in several groups to organize business, encouraged us to write progress report weekly, facilitated us to conduct the business project. And, I took part as the leader of Administrative Department of the group. But since I was a junior of this group, my confidence was not that much to take this responsibility. I tended to get shy but still try to manager to express myself of the group. We are different races within the grouping. Language was the major concern here. But, despite of this fact, we were still able to tolerance each other because of the patience we had for everyone. Thus, I was a leader of secretary group; I start to communicate with our group members, so that I can get the idea to write the report. Language was the main concern here. This is because I quite hard to understand the language that spoken by Indonesia’s classmate. However, I still encouraged them to take part in the discussion, so that I have idea to write the report.


Even come from different race or cuntry, but we will stay together to success the business


When I was writing the report for week 9, this is not easy for me to write the report for business progress. This is because I didn’t have any business education background. I feel headache to write report. When I write the report, I know what I should write, but feel difficult to express it into sentences. Oh, my God. Anyone, who can help me, TT….TT…. I keep asking myself, will lecturer laugh on my poor essay, will lecturer feel boring will my report….. lecturer that…. lecturer this….keeping asking myself when writing report. But, when I pass to my group member see my report; they were quite satisfy with my report. From here, I have learned that never give up easily especially when touching the area that you didn’t familiar.

Reflect on Learning (Plan)

Reflect on learning - What is the most valuable thing you learned in Project Business Plan?

“What have I learn from the business plan…?” I keep asking myself about this question. I was quite headache by answering this kind of question. Okay, let me answer this question for you, but you must be patient while reading it. (I know my essay is quite boring).

First, I have learned that when going into business, we must have a well- organized business plan. One of major reasons new business fail is poor planning. We cannot plan the business without understanding of the business that we’re entering. If we are don’t understand the business, we will totally fail when developing the business. Even when you go ask the permission from loan of the bank, the banker will say “bye-bye” to you. That time you will cry because of lazy to understand the business. Ha…ha… perhaps I can sponsor the tissue……This is what I learn from business plan.


Besides that, when I finished up all business plan project, I realize that identifying target market is important. In order to develop a solid business plan, we need to determine who your target market is. We should understand their need, taste, and view and so on in detail. For example, our business plan is photography service in UUM. So, this is very clear that our target market is UUM students. We understand that student want photography to capture the special memory in University. Thus, we have the plan to help the student to preserve memories in best sight by capture aesthetic photo. By this, our business will drive to success.

Actually developing a business plan is not as hard as it seems. In my concept, a good businessman should be able create a business plan that is comprehensive and concisely written.

Reflect on Learning (Idea)

Reflect on learning – What is the most valuable thing you learned in Project Business Ideas?

My course mates often ask me the IT Entrepreneur Subject fun or not? “Yes”, I reply, “but sometime get crazy of this subject’s assignment. However, I learned a lot from this subject.

I was fortunate enough to participate in the IT Entrepreneurship subject at the UUM. I’ve had the opportunity to experience how to develop the business idea. Here are the most important things I learned in this course paper.

-“Tolerance is the key to success”, this is what I learn.
Many of us had a lot to say about tolerance. But, who really can tolerance especially in giving the business idea. When we come to the business idea, all of us have spent at least a couple days thinking different ideas. When come to the meeting, all of us want our own idea will be accepted. Sorry…. we cannot accept all idea except our parents is rich enough to support us. Sometime we will be impatient when idea was being rejected. My idea also rejected… so sad!!!!!

After discussing and discussing, we learn about the TOLERANCE…. Try to tolerance with other person’s idea. And also, I aware that smart student not always come up good idea while the weak student not always gives unacceptable idea. “I was the weak one”. Ha… ha…. Don’t tell to my group mate, they may be killing me.


-“Take some time to identifying problem “; this is what I learn from Project business idea.

Talking about giving the creative business idea, an entrepreneur must spend the time to identifying the problem. A business idea will be more successful if an entrepreneur spends some time identifying the problem associated with the business. Our main problem is start- up budget. So, our business idea cannot cost us too much of money. If not, we will bankrupt when business fail. Try to remember our PTPTN just above RM1500. SO, WE CANNOT FAIL….…. WE CANNOT FAIL ….If fail, we may be will death because of starve in UUM.




OK, this all, I don’t have any idea talk any more. In short, I have learn a lot in Project Business Idea.

As an investor_Evaluation

If you were an investor evaluating the organizational feasibility of a proposed venture, how would you evaluate passion?

An organizational feasibility analysis or evaluation is important step in investment start- up and development. As an investor, I need increase the chances of success by analyzing the proposed venture.

First: Capital

Besides that, as investor, I also need to make sure the value-added venture has sufficient capital. Undercapitalized proposed venture have no flexibility and shortfalls can kill the investment. There is strong competition in most food-related industries today. The venture must have the financial staying power unforeseen financial reversals. The key to success in investment when investing is to make a profitable business with limited financial risk. So, I want the organizational feasibility of a proposed venture should have reliable financial report and list out all the risk of investment.

Second: Core Competency

If I were an investor evaluating the organizational feasibility of a proposed venture, I will evaluate based on the core competency of organizational feasibility. I want some special skill, technology, ability, organization process that is unique to business and can do better than competitor .UNIQUE is the key word. Why??? Before I explain it, let see the question first:
“Does the product or service already exist? If so, will the product be competitive and marketable in market? Can your venture compete with the big boys in the industry? Competitors may attack your efforts using whatever means they can.”
If the organization feasibility of a proposed venture that is not rare enough, how can we flight with other competitor? So, this is very important to have creative core competency of organizational feasibility. In short, I will evaluate passion based on the creativity or unique want some special skill, technology, ability, or organization process.

Third: Ability Risk Control

I will prefer evaluating the organizational feasibility of a proposed venture based on the skill in controlling the risk. Managing risk is controlling the factors that contribute to possible losses against the investment. The organization feasibility has ability to minimize the effect of a negative occurrence in investment.



As a result, that all I will evaluate the organizational feasibility of a proposed venture if I was an investor.

Come up new product or service idea?

In what ways do you think university students are uniquely capable to come up with new product or service ideas?

Reading and read a ton of book. The best way to come up a business idea is to consume as much information as possible before reaching information. Anyway, the more student read, the more exposure get to different areas of life, the world, business, whatever you want to read about. Check out news websites, blogs, newspapers, and magazines, anything you can! All those material will come up a new business idea. In my opinion, reading is the way for student to come up with new idea.



One concern that many student have is whether they have the experience or knowledge that is required to come up a business idea. Entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone, especially at university student’s stage of career. Many entrepreneur fail in their business because they business idea’s failure. So, what skill or attribute should student has to come up a unique business idea? The answer is the ability to be creative, develop ideas and then crucially spot the opportunities that could be really successful. The business idea also needs to be able to adapt to change quickly, new ventures are characterized by rapid rates of change and high levels of uncertainty, university student need to be able to respond effectively…. And also, they must looking around and identifying a gap in the market for a new product or service from time to time. In short, creativity of university students is uniquely capable to come up with new product or service ideas.



I think, university students also have capability to come up with new business idea because they being innovative. The university students able to turn into an opportunity where there is a need, problem and either actual or potential demand for a product or service. Nowadays, university student able to identified a simple enough problem and set about finding a solution. As university students, we are always running around from place to place doing a lot of things. Just sit down for a few minutes. Think about what would make the daily routine of a university student better, easier, or more efficient. Try to identified the student problem and turn it into a business idea.



Above is my personal opinion about the student to get the business idea. But, remember that business opportunities are everywhere.

Successful Entrepreneur

Do you have what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur?

When lecturer asked me to define what will take me to become a successful entrepreneur, I decided that I should really dig deep into my entrepreneurial spirit to ask myself- “Can I become a successful entrepreneur?” Sometime I also think about I better to work for somebody else or can be a successful entrepreneur.




I keep asking myself, what will be the most important element to become a successful businesswoman. After thinking and thinking, I think entrepreneur need to manage the time properly. I always like to manage my time by writing some note into my diary. To make sure that, I can manage to submit my assignment in time. There’s no point in spending a whole day over a task or assignment until other task cannot finish, I thought. This is same situation in the entrepreneur’s world. If we don’t manage the time properly, the entire task all is hanging there. And also, the customer wills not satisfy our time management. As a result, the company cannot earn more profit and will bring bad image to company. Thus, my ability to manage the time maybe will take me to become a successful entrepreneur

First of all, to be a successful entrepreneur need has a correct mind set to think like a industry leader… I like soaking up new information especially some strange news from Internet.. But, sometime I have been flooded with incorrect messages from internet. However, I have met a friend (secret) who has influence me a lot.. I start to know I need a completely different mindset to start THINKING like a successful entrepreneur. My belief is also slowly changing. I start to read articles, books and so on. Also, meeting other people and getting entrepreneurship opinion from them. Thank you, my dear friend… Even, I still have a long journey need to explore but after I have a correct mind set, I may be will success.

Becoming an entrepreneur is not an easy task! There are certain qualities that are absolutely I must have to become successful in your business ventures. I have the ability to lead. Because when I studied in secondary school, I was the prefect for school. For a successful entrepreneur are capable of leading people and get work done by them. I prefer to use some methods to train my employee if I am an entrepreneur. For example, I will give the motivation from time to time, and also the evaluation. This all methods are important to lead the employee…. So, I believe this ability will give a big advantage to me to become an entrepreneur.



Beside that, the creativity will make me to be success in this entrepreneur’s world. Each new product, each new marketing method, each business thinking- all these need creative thinking. Ha…ha… Actually, I am not very creative thinking if compared to my roommate. So, sad …Also, I was lack of idea when lecturer asked me to think about the business idea for the project. But, never mind, from now I must more creative thinking and thinking positive. Maybe someday, I really become a successful businesswoman…. Who know?

This all just me personal thinking…... hmmm….In actual world, I am not so good that I mentioned above….. But, I will try to become an entrepreneur…

About Myself

When I was at the age around six, I saw my grandmom baking the Cake Lapis Sarawak. (I AM SARAWAKIAN) I clearly remember that disgusting smell and my first thought was “When I grow up, I want to be a cake baker and learn baking the most delicious desert”.



But, when I really grow up, every dream..hope..all broken. I have been choosing by UUM university and taking multimedia course.

This is quite hard for me because I really do not like this course, and just little knowledge about it...What can it do is accept the arrangement of the God because my home has facing financial problem and I cannot go to private university

Throughout my life, I have been involved in a wide variety of activities (especially in secondary school) that have been me more knowledge and experience in socially. But, I am very weak in certain academic areas such as computer, language and etc.

My weakness in language especially in English makes me also poor in presentation. When first class, Lecturer said that every IT ENTREPRENEURSHIP student has a change to present in front of class… Oh my GOD!!!! This new makes me feel….stress…headache….
